Description
The Ontario Association of Architects (OAA) is a self-regulating, not-for-profit organization that is governed by the_Architects Act_, a statute of the Government of Ontario.
Its principal object is to regulate the practice of architecture.Responsibilities:
Meetings and Events
- Order, deliver and set up food and supplies for meetings and events
- Assist with setup room of furniture and basic setup of AV equipment
- Process OAA conference registrations for complimentary delegates
- Ensure office equipment is functional and place maintenance calls when necessary (e.g. for kitchen appliances, photocopiers and postage machines)
- Prepare packages for couriers and distribute mail within OAA offices
- Ensure general tidiness of building
- Provide administrative assistance to various OAA staff and service areas on an as needed basis
- Attend designated OAA Committee meetings and prepare meeting notes
- Maintain and coordinate onsite and offsite storage
- Package and mail certificates
- Coordinate and track staff training
- Support the Social Committee
- Back up Receptionist
Qualifications:
- Strong administrative skills
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Self motivated with a positive attitude and a good work ethic
- Good computer skills with knowledge of MS Office (Word & Excel) and Outlook
- Good time management and organizational skills
- Reliable and dependable
- High school degree or equivalent, post secondary education is preferred
- Able to lift 140lbs
- Compensation commiserate with experience
