Description

The Ontario Association of Architects (OAA) is a self-regulating, not-for-profit organization that is governed by the_Architects Act_, a statute of the Government of Ontario.

Its principal object is to regulate the practice of architecture.


Responsibilities:

Meetings and Events

  • Order, deliver and set up food and supplies for meetings and events
  • Assist with setup room of furniture and basic setup of AV equipment
  • Process OAA conference registrations for complimentary delegates
Office and Building Support

  • Ensure office equipment is functional and place maintenance calls when necessary (e.g. for kitchen appliances, photocopiers and postage machines)
  • Prepare packages for couriers and distribute mail within OAA offices
  • Ensure general tidiness of building
Administrative Duties

  • Provide administrative assistance to various OAA staff and service areas on an as needed basis
  • Attend designated OAA Committee meetings and prepare meeting notes
  • Maintain and coordinate onsite and offsite storage
  • Package and mail certificates
  • Coordinate and track staff training
  • Support the Social Committee
  • Back up Receptionist

Qualifications:


  • Strong administrative skills
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Self motivated with a positive attitude and a good work ethic
  • Good computer skills with knowledge of MS Office (Word & Excel) and Outlook
  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • Reliable and dependable
  • High school degree or equivalent, post secondary education is preferred
  • Able to lift 140lbs

Office hours: 8:30am - 4:30pm, Monday to Friday
