Description

Responsible for delivering exceptional customer service to all employees with the primary responsibility of administering the union and non-union compensation.

Administration of the employee educational assistance programs, maintenance of the HRIS database, employee files, and the employee recognition program. Assist in the communication and understand of the compensation strategies. Play a key role in the execution of salary administrative process, and incentive plans.


RESPONSIBILITIES

Compensation

  • Assist with and provide input in maintaining a fair, equitable and competitive total compensation package that fits and is aligned to our company's strategy and business goals. Follow compensation practices that are compliant with current legislation.
  • Assist in the preparation of job descriptions, job analysis, job evaluations and job classifications.
  • Participate in the completion and analysis of the compensation surveys.
  • Maintain union and nonunion salary structures
  • Provide guidance and communications relating to Incentive Programs.
  • Analyze economic indicators, market data and trends to support external competitiveness
  • Training new managers on the employee data workflow and compensation.
  • Assist in the preparation and administration of bonus and salary process.
  • Provides advice to senior management on initiatives that affect compensation and job redesign
  • Develops communication initiatives to ensure employees understand the value of the total compensation package.

Core HR

  • Oversee the administration of performance reviews.
  • Administer the employee recognition program.
  • Assist in the coordination and attend the service award functions, as required.
  • Contributes to the continuous improvement of business processes.
  • File Room duties (new hire kits, separations etc.) as required, preparing employment verification letters and processing online terminations.
  • Participate in the development and action of yearly competency performance work plan and development action plan.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • 35 years' experience in the compensation administration.
  • Previous experience in compensation surveys.
  • Knowledge of Oracle Cloud or an equivalent Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
  • Strong attention to detail with high degree of accuracy.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • The ability to work in a fastpaced environment independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Hands on experience with quantitative and qualitative research.
  • Effectively prioritize, handle multiple tasks, and meet multiple deadlines simultaneously.
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Related postsecondary education, such as Human Resources Management Certificate or Compensation Certificate/Degree. (desirable)
  • Experience working with unions and within the guidelines of a Collective Agreement. (desirable)
  • Experience in a retail environment. (desirable)
