Smart Building Systems Integrator to support our initiative of deploying green technologies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Smart Building Integration involves integrating electrical and mechanical systems and connected devices to IT systems, IoT and Analytics Software.

Reporting directly to theOperations Manager, the Smart Building Systems Integrator is responsible for configuring and programming various hardware and software systems for smart buildings including controllers, visualization software, network hardware, and analytics.

The incumbent will be required to program, configure, commission, and service smart building systems to properly control and monitor the equipment in these facilities.


Duties and responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

  • System Integration and Programming of

Smart Building Systems:
_

  • Interpret control system schematics and other technical literature from various building electrical, mechanical, lighting, card access, CCTV and connected devices systems, and configure systems to integrate into a common platform.
  • Assist with system integration of other equipment manufacturer's systems and networks such as BACnet, Tridium, OPC Server, Variable Speed Drives, Recorders, Smart Transmitters, etc.
  • Program and configure various hardware such as controllers, VFD's, routers, and gateways to create a logical control sequence of Smart Building Systems
  • Configure programmable logic controllers and networks such as BACnet, LonWorks, Modbus, etc.
  • Program and configure various software to visualize Smart Building Systems and connected devices.
  • Layout and configures cyber physical secure solutions for bridging various OT, IT, and IoT networks.
  • Perform data integration and migration from the operational technology networks to IT and IoT systems.
  • Deploy cloud connected solutions and implements Smart Building Analytics
  • Develop graphical user screens which will visualize the process for the operator.
  • Provide technical support to field installation electricians.
  • Perform project coordination as required to ensure project deliverables are met in a timely manner.
  • Service:_
  • Support service for automation and control systems related to mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Answer oncalls (on rotating basis) during off hours such as evenings and weekends to ensure customer issues are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Quality Control and Commissioning:_
  • Follow industry and company standards using templates for sequencing of Smart Building Systems
  • Perform onsite and remote testing and commissioning of systems effectively.
  • Perform tuning and optimization (realtime commissioning) of Smart Building Systems
  • Perform troubleshooting and emergency repairs of Smart Building Systems as required.
  • Provide onsite and remote support service for automation and controls systems related to mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Systems Diagnostics and Applications:_
  • Communication and Teamwork:_
  • Communicate effectively with customers and team members about current projects and any recommendations for repairs or improvements.
  • Collaborate with other contractors and consultants effectively to ensure issues get resolved in a timely manner.
  • Ensure consistent follow up with customers on projects or servicerelated activities.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Postsecondary education in Engineering Technology, Computer Programming, or IT Programming coupled with 25 years of experience in programming and commissioning and/or IT.
