Job Summary:

Reporting to the Manager of Strategic Growth Services, the Electric Mobility Industry Specialist is responsible for driving economic growth and development in the region's Electric Vehicle (EV) sector.

Key functions of this role will include fostering strategic partnerships, attracting investments, and supporting the expansion and development of businesses in these sectors, to position Niagara region as a leader in the electric mobility sector.


Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Engineering or other related field.
  • An equivalent combination of education, experience and qualifications may be considered.

Knowledge:


  • 810 years of experience in economic development, business development, investment attraction or other related field. Government sector experience is considered an asset.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the Electric Mobility (EM) industry and sectors, including industry and sector trends, technologies, and market dynamics.
  • Knowledge of government policies, programs and incentives related to the Electric Mobility (EM) industry and sectors.
  • Knowledge of marketing and promotional strategies, to effectively position and market the region to potential investors.
  • Familiarity with the principles and practices of community planning, land use/growth management concepts, infrastructure improvement planning is an asset.
  • Excellent networking and relationshipbuilding skills, coupled with the ability to engage with industry leaders, investors and government officials.
  • Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to identify opportunities, analyze data and develop a comprehensive strategy for the EV mobility sector within Niagara region.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present complex information to diverse audiences.
  • Project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple initiatives and partners simultaneously.
  • One of the following certifications (or equivalent) is preferred: Certified Economic Developer (Ec.

D.) from the Economic Developers Association of Canada (EDAC), or Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) from the International Economic Development Council.

  • Conduct research and analysis to identify opportunities for growth and development in the electric mobility sector.
  • Develop strategies and initiatives to attract new businesses, investments, and talent to the region.
  • Collaborate with industry/sector partners, government agencies, and educational institutions to foster sectorspecific partnerships and initiatives.
  • Stay updated with industry and sector trends, policies, and regulatory changes impacting the Electric Mobility (EM) sector.
