This is an exciting time to be in human resources at Manulife, with a number of enterprise-wide initiatives under way that will help us "win" in the marketplace.


Responsibilities

  • Be a strategic partner to Global Group Functions teams, developing and driving the people strategy, workforce planning (e.g., skills, structure, people, etc.), talent management, and organizational change
  • Be an authority with vision and an agent of change with respect to the HR function, constantly and creatively assessing and sharing opportunities and risks to the function, driving continuous improvement, and demonstrating how the HR may be used, changed or adapted to provide benefits to the broader organization
  • Be the face of "One HR" to leadership, ensuring HR services and resources are delivered seamlessly and, in a customercentric way, to support acquisition, engagement and retention of employees in line with business need
  • Actively analyze data with the goal of communicating insights back to the business to advise their people related strategies and priorities
  • Be a proactive and strategic talent partner to drive our talent identification and development process to ensure that the business has sufficient bench strength and that succession plans are in place for senior leaders and other critical roles
  • Partner closely with the Country/Segment HR leads to make use of our global scale, contribute to its agenda, and operate seamlessly as one team
  • Collaborate with our HR leaders to provide input on their solutions to make sure the business perspective is embedded early on, and to use external market intelligence as often as possible
  • Provide feedback and advice to senior leaders on people issues, HR strategies, and leadership
  • Anticipate impact of change, including risks and potential blocking issues, on the organization
  • Coordinate the delivery of all cyclical employee initiatives such as the Employee Engagement Survey, Performance Planning, Talent Review, and Compensation Cycle for your assigned client groups
