Summary


Reporting to the Quality Supervisor, the quality technician provides technical support for all production operations to ensure and improve the quality of raw materials, finished products, and manufacturing processes in the interest of customer satisfaction.


Key responsibilities

  • Conduct internal audits on work-in-progress and finished products as well as work processes and procedures to ensure quality standards are being met and enforced.
  • Inspect parts (raw materials, first-off articles, production, final inspection).
  • Assist the production, R&D engineering teams with product introductions and other initiatives.
  • Train employees on changes in manufacturing processes changes
  • Identify, analyze, and propose quality-related solutions to streamline workflow and ensure compliance with standards.
  • Improve and document equipment and manufacturing processes and optimize methods to reduce variability.
  • Help introduce new materials, manufacturing processes, methods, and production equipment to optimize production and trim non-quality costs.
  • Oversee or contribute to continuous improvement (e.g., Kaizen, processes, problem-solving).
  • Monitor and work to improve noncompliance issues, customer complaints, and efficiency levels.
  • Recommend ways to eliminate errors in the manufacturing system.
  • Make changes or adjustments to parts that are deemed noncompliant to prevent them from going to waste.

4. Professional skills/qualifications
Ø College degree in industrial/mechanical engineering or at least two years' experience in quality control and/or manufacturing processes.

Ø Required experience

2-3 yearsat a manufacturing company (an asset)

1) Required skills

Ø Fluency in spoken and written English and French

Ø Ability for reading diagrams

Ø Proficiency in Excel (tables, pivot tables, formulas)

Ø Basic knowledge of dimensional inspection

Ø Experience with vernier instruments and micrometers

Ø Grasp of core statistical concepts

Ø Good communication skills

Ø Strong work ethic

Ø Leadership skills

Ø Team spirit

Ø Problem-solving skills

Ø Flexibility

Ø Autonomous

Constant communication with various suppliers and company departments
