JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Operations Manager(s), this Supervisor plans, coordinates, and monitors activities of a warehouse operations team. Proactively responds to events and issues that threaten the productivity and quality of the operation. Ensures effective communication with team members. Builds open and honest relationships with the customer, ensures the team provides excellent service, understands and anticipates customer needs.


Shifts:

Monday to Friday, 12:00pm - 8:00pm

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Plan and supervise all picking activities, including putaway, Order waving, replenishment, picking, Goods to person system operation, and inventory control.
  • Schedule the labour requirements for the shift to ensure production goals are met within the budgeted cost structure.
  • Complete shift briefings to ensure the effective communication of relevant information to all employees.
  • Assign and follow up with operators and warehouse staff on the length of time required for tasks to be completed by noting tasks assignments and communicating approximate time of completion.
  • Ensure the service level requirements for all inbound/outbound shipments are met.
  • Identifies and removes barriers to productivity.
  • Flag priority orders and revise schedules to meet outbound orders.
  • Monitor, analyze and report daily/weekly departmental performance through effective KPI tracking and data collection for respective shift.
  • Approve daily all labour hours using ITR in adherence with company policies, maintaining accurate record keeping ensuring proper payment of employees for the shift and cost allocation to customer accounts.
  • Provide daily feedback to employees through coaching and administer performance appraisals.
  • Handle all disciplinary situations appropriately and in a timely manner with appropriate supporting documentation.
  • Conducts regular "oneonone" meetings with team members.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Fulfill the duties of a supervisor under the Occupational Health and Safety Act including: safety, violence and harassment laws.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum of a college diploma in business management with focus in logistics management or the equivalent in experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management is an asset.
  • Five (5) years Distribution experience. (3PL experience would be an asset)
  • At least two (2) years supervisory experience, preferably in a 3PL Operations role.
  • Detailed understanding of the Canadian apparel retail industry and of the Forzani Group unique requirements.
  • Detailed understanding of valueadded services requirements such as price ticketing, polybaging, musical run, ecommerce packaging.
  • Experience with Red Prairie, Blue Yonder an asset.
  • Experience picking Ecommerce orders an asset.
  • Experience with a goods to person system and automation an asset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills both written and verbal, and the ability to develop relationships at all levels in the organization.
  • Exceptional hands on WMS knowledge.
  • In depth knowledge and experience with RF scanners.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills, sound business judgment and a proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Excellent time management and organization skills, with the proven ability to multitask and reprioritize based on business demands and needs.
  • Service oriented with strong customer interaction skills and commitment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven leadership ability within a solid team environment.
  • Capable of working with mínimal supervision.
  • Able to work a flexible work schedule including overtime, evenings, nights, and weekends when required.
  • Works 100% of their time on the warehouse floor walking, standing, and bending.
  • Able to lift repetitively on average up to 50 lbs. safely.
