As an Event and Attraction Host, you will work at City of Edmonton attractions and recreation facilities to provide superior customer service.
Your ability to approach situations in a professional, calm and diplomatic manner will allow for well-managed and enjoyable events for patrons in attendance.

- Utilize your highly developed oral communication skills to provide information to facility patrons
- Provide detailed information about the facility and services
- Control admission to various areas of the facility
- Use standard office equipment, computers and twoway radios
- Act upon all comments and complaints in a prompt, friendly manner
- Troubleshoot and find resolutions for problems like AV etc.
- Provide minor first aid when needed
- Comfortable working with large groups, alcohol
- Minor custodial duties as needed
- Facilitate a safe, fun and appropriate use of facility
- May be required to assist with a set up or take down
- Open and lock up of stand alone facilities
- Must be available to work evenings and weekends, some late nights in remote areas throughout all areas of the city, including North Edmonton
- Work independently and on a team, reliable transportation required.
- Able to manage multiple groups simultaneously responsibility for entire facility and rental group, manage safety and security of patrons and city building
- Related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Completion of Grade 12 with an emphasis on general office practices or completion of an appropriate certificate program from an approved school/college
- Experience working as an event host or a similar role is an asset
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to provide accurate information in a confident, professional and personable manner
- Proficiency using Facility and Booking Rentals Intelli modules is an asset
- Ability to converse is a second language is an asset
- Possession of current Standard First Aid and CPR Certification is required prior to commencement of employment
- Hire is dependent upon a Police Information Check including Vulnerable Sector Check satisfactory to the City of Edmonton
