***Reporting to the Manager, Registration and Switchboard, the Switchboard Operator is responsible for answering and directing incoming telephone calls to the GBHS hospitals.

Duties include but are not limited to:
all paging services (overhead and Spok Messenger); parking lot(s) entry and exit gates; visitor information. This position also responds to contingency codes and alarms, monitors alarms, and various clerical duties as assigned. This position is required to work all shifts 24/7.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

High School Diploma and relevant business office experience and/or equivalent business education
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Attention to detail and accuracy
Patientservice focused
Ability to multitask
Availability to work all shifts
Experience working on a switchboard preferred
Typing speed of 30 wpm (to be tested)
Ability to understand verbal and written instructions
Recent satisfactory attendance and performance
Adherence to GBHS 'CARE' Behaviours (Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, Excellence) and 'LEAD' Competencies (Lead by example, Empower, Achieve results, Develop others) and a commitment to a safe workplace free of violence and harassment
