Description

Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent customer service to pet owners
  • Assist with the care and handling of animals in the kennel
  • Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, and common areas
  • Feed and water animals according to their specific needs
  • Administer medications as directed by senior staff
  • Exercise and play with animals to ensure their wellbeing
  • Monitor the health and behavior of animals and report any concerns to the supervisor
  • Assist with grooming tasks such as bathing and brushing

Requirements:


  • Previous experience working with animals is preferred but not required
  • Ability to handle and lift heavy objects, including bags of food and large dogs
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact with pet owners in a professional manner
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays

Note:
This position may involve exposure to animal hair, dander, and odors. It may also require standing for long periods of time and performing repetitive tasks. And is an OUTDOOR job rain snow or shine


Job Types:
Full-time, Part-time


Salary:
From $16.00 per hour


Schedule:

  • Weekends as needed

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Thorndale, ON N0M 2P0: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

- animal care: 1 year (preferred)
