The Opportunity


The Human Resources Coordinator, under the direction of the Human Resources Manager, will be responsible for HR support, including recruiting, on-boarding, benefits and payroll support across multiple offices and business units.

The incumbent will also provide support for daily HR administration across multiple departments.


Responsibilities:

  • Maintain human resources information and related records systems in compliance with applicable legislation.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and complete personnel records.
  • Respond to employee requests regarding current Canopy policies and procedures and various HR related matters.
  • Assists with the administration process regarding updating employee benefits changes, and copying files required for HRIS administration and payroll processing.
  • Assists with attendance process. This includes helping determine employee entitlements, carry-over entitlement, year-end payouts such as overtime, and resolving attendance issues.
  • Prepare new employee folders and ensure that all relevant policies and paperwork have been reviewed and completed.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Experience- Working knowledge of HR legislation and best practices in Ontario.- Proficiency in MS office, including: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.- Strong interview screening skills including behavioural interview techniques.- Highly organized self-starter, with strong attention to detail.- Demonstrated team play who is results oriented.- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with employees and management.- Ability to handle a wide variety of situations professionally with confidentiality, sensitivity, diplomacy and tact.- Experience with Workday considered an asset.
