The School of Community, Wellness, and Health is growing and we are recruiting a Part-Time Lab Technician Position to cover a leave. The position will start as soon as possible until May 9, 2023 or until the permanent incumbent returns.
Position Responsibilities
The School Lab Technician works collaboratively with the Lab to enhance student learning and will specialize in a simulation environment. Their primary duties will be to assist with lab setup, inventory management, organization, and maintenance while also supporting day to day operations in a simulation environment. This important role will support the Nursing, Practical Nursing, Medical Lab Assistant, Occupational and Physical Therapist Assistant, Kinesiology & Sport Studies and Pharmacy Technician programs well as other health programs as required.

- two years of related post-secondary training and have a minimum of one year of related experience in a laboratory environment.
Required Qualifications

1 2 years of related experience
Two (2) years of postsecondary training or equivalent.
Ability to work in a demanding environment where ability to prioritize is essential
Ability to work independently Technical and mechanical aptitude
Ability to troubleshoot electronic equipment Safety courses such as WHMIS and OHS are essential
Ability to lift, bend and move heavy equipment essential
Demonstrated critical thinking skills

Preferred Qualifications

General healthcare knowledge and healthcare terminology is an asset
