St. John Paul II Academy in South Surrey, British Columbia, is seeking a dynamic, inspired and faith-filled educational leader to serve as Principal for the 2024/25 school year and beyond.

St. John Paul II Academy is an exciting, hope-filled, Catholic, Category 1 Independent school rooted in the charism of Pope St. John Paul II and operating in affiliation with the Catholic Independent Schools of the Vancouver Archdiocese (CISVA). The school is at a pivotal stage of its development and positioning to grow and expand into its new state-of the-art South Surrey campus in the Fall of 2025. The school Principal will become an integral member of the school's leadership and governance team and will be instrumental in leading the attainment of this goal.

The successful candidate will :

• Be an active, practicing Catholic

• Be instrumental in developing an evangelizing school community which fosters a personal relationship with Jesus in the family of the Church

• Guide students in the pursuit of truth, beauty and goodness within the Catholic Intellectual Tradition

• Demonstrate vision, commitment and competency in school enrollment growth, program development and student performance

• Actively engage in the attraction, retention and development of teaching staff and other critical employees with a view to the school's evolving needs

• Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to strategically engage all members of the school community

• Have excellent managerial and organizational leadership skills

• Demonstrate a strong understanding and application of BC Ministry of Education programs, policies, and procedures

• Monitor best practice in instructional planning, assessment, and evaluation

• Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing Professional Development

Eligible candidates will also have the following credentials and experience:

• BC Certified Teacher (unrestricted certificate)

• Masters Degree (or equivalent higher education)

• Minimum of five years highly successful teaching experience

This position is effective September 1, 2024 . The salary range for this position is $133,000 - $160,000.
