LABORATORY SUPERVISOR - SEMI-VOLATILES SECTION

As a
LABORATORY SUPERVISOR
, your main responsibilities are:
Senior supervisory laboratory position covering a variety of procedures that require knowledge of chemistry and laboratory procedures.
Responsible for coordinating efforts of staff to deliver accurate and reliable data while meeting turnaround times and production targets through the efficient use of available resources.
Key Accountability/Responsibilities:
- Train/develop new staff and assign duties commensurate to their experience.
- Ensure staff understand and follow all safety procedures and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) ensure QA protocols are being followed.
- Ensure that SOP's are maintained uptodate.
- Provide information and assistance to all staff in order to protect the health and safety of our employees.
- Recommend improvements regarding process efficiency including validation of new methods and bringing new workstations online.
- Monitor the status of workstations daily and ensure turnaround times and production targets are met.
- Coordinate the work schedules of Analysts and ensure appropriate coverage while minimizing overtime.
- Review and interpret data within the section, verifying the contents of all reports prior to their being submitting for final authorization and release to the client. Bring any concerns to the attention of the Department Manager.
- Assist in the investigation of any inquiry/discrepancies that may arise concerning the section.
- Assist Analysts with problem solving and instrumental troubleshooting as required.

Education and Experience:
- Technical diploma required, B.Sc. preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a laboratory environment
- Indepth technical background and strong laboratory instrumentation trouble shooting abilities
