    Job Title:
    Accounts Payable/Accounting Officer
    Staff Bargaining Unit
    Position Status: 1 Year Temporary, Full-Time (35 hrs/week)
    Financial Services
    • Accounts Payable 60%
    • Payroll Assistance 20%
    • Fund Accounting (Foundation) 10%

    Delivering all Accounts Payable services for the University and related departments.
    Review and verify invoices, and payment requests, ensuring compliance with University policies and procedures.
    Provide guidance to employees on accounts payable procedures, wire payments, and reimbursement claims.
    Approve and review purchase order requests in the absence of the Manager, Procurement.
    Responsible for various financial year-end reports and liaising with auditors on Accounts Payable matters.
    Provide expertise on GST/HST, staying updated on related regulations and preparing necessary reports.
    Manage AU's VISA and AMEX cards, PayPal account, and assist with payroll processes.
    Responsible for Fund Accounting, tracking revenue, donations, scholarships, and expenses.
    Prepare Fund Analysis Reports and liaise with auditors on foundation funds.
    Reconcile travel claims, process payments, and handle data entry tasks.
    Office setting during regular hours, requiring strong administrative and organizational skills.
    Undergraduate degree in Business Administration or Accounting and at least two years of related work experience required.
    Knowledge of Sage, Beanworks, Google Sheets, and Student Record Management Systems preferred.
    Ability to communicate financial information effectively and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
