Victoria Contracting & Municipal Maintenance Corporation (VCMMC) is now accepting resumes for the position of Parks & Gardens Assistant Crew Leader.

The position of the Parks & Landscape Assistant Crew Lead requires some experience managing a crew of 3-5 staff, plus be able to complete tasks and paperwork on time.

Schooling on agronomy/botany and having a basic understanding of irrigation with a desire to continue horticultural education is an asset.

VCMMC provides maintenance services to several municipalities in the Capital Regional District and as such employees may have a diverse range of responsibilities, including but not limited to, the following:

Leaf blowers, grass/hedge trimmers, etc.
Experience driving bobcats is an asset
Use of basic hand tools
Completing multiple jobs/work orders in a timely manner to meet critical deadlines
Operate equipment in a safe and efficient way according to all relevant policies and procedures
Maintain a professional appearance and dealing with the public in a courteous and respectful manner at all times
Assisting in physical labour tasks as required
Participating in and recording prejob safety meeting

QUALIFICATIONS:

Valid drivers license _(Please indicate any other relevant certifications/licences you may possess)_
Ability to safely operate a variety of equipment
Strong communication skills, specifically the ability to convey information effectively
Strong listening skills, specifically taking direction and putting them into action
Exceptional multitasking and organizational skills
Attention to detail regarding paperwork, staff time sheets, work orders and materials tracking
Work effectively as a team leader and have excellent interpersonal skills
