Your opportunity:
Reporting to the Director, Education Programs and Administrative Services, the incumbent assumes responsibility for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a large teaching laboratory facility which supports Medication Therapy Management and other clinical courses.
The incumbent is responsible for establishing work priorities to proceed with course objectives and uses best judgement in decisions to ensure smooth function of the laboratory.
Responsibilities include scheduling resources to ensure proper lab coverage.Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing, assembling and settingup material, equipment and supplies used in teaching and/or research labs
- Overseeing daytoday operational needs of the unit
- Developing and implementing instructional strategies to support learning objectives, incorporating current best practices in teaching
- Creating and editing documents
- Analyzing administrative processes and procedures and recommending changes for improvement
- Troubleshooting routine hardware/software issues
- Providing safety training and ensuring compliance to lab safety procedures and standards
Essential Qualifications:
- College Diploma (2 years) or acceptable combination of equivalent experience. Recognized Pharmacy Technician College Diploma preferred.
- Minimum three years experience working in a teaching lab environment
- Minimum three years overseeing daytoday operations of a teaching lab
- Experience troubleshooting hardware and software issues for a teaching lab
- Experience providing safety training and ensuring compliance to lab safety procedures and standards
- Strong leadership skills, initiative, and attention to detail
- Ability to work well ina team environment to achieve the overall goals of the unit
- Proficiency in LMS, and pharmacy software systems
- Ability to handle a variety of complex tasks and issues promptly and efficiently while maintaining accuracy and meeting conflicting deadlines
- Strong interpersonal, problem solving, organizational, and communication skills
Assets (Nonessential):
- Previous hospital pharmacy, pharmacy technician or community, sterile compounding experience is considered an asset
- Experience in teaching/training is considered an asset
