What you will do:
Reporting to the Associate Director, Advising and Career Services, and working with the Project Manager, Career and Placement Portal, the System Facilitator, Career and Placement Portal will be responsible for the daily system support, delivery of technical services and customer service in order to facilitate a positive experience for users.
This individual will be expected to work in collaboration with other staff supporting the Portal and should demonstrate a high level of technical skill, self-direction, initiative, and independence of judgment.
What you bring to the role
Education:
- 3 year diploma/degree or equivalent in Information Science, Human Resources, Business Administration, or Liberal Arts
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years' experience providing technical support in a busy environment to clients of diverse backgrounds.
- Demonstrated experience working in a higher education student services setting, specifically Career Services and with Career Services systems;
- Experience providing employment preparation support to students/clients
Skills:
- Knowledge of the Career Development Cycle and Career Education, theories and practice
- Ability to deal with competing demands and high volume is essential
- Excellent analytical and organizational abilities
- Exceptional customer service skills;
- The capacity to interact effectively and represent Humber Career Services positively with faculty partners, students, and employers is essential;
- Good systems knowledge, technical skills and some experience working with external providers;
- Good command of technical skills to work on small projects and modules.
- Strong computer skills, including MS Office programs, Internet and web site management is required.
- Spreadsheet and database experience are required, especially with Excel.
- Sound knowledge of best practice in the area of employment practices, employer engagement and Humber processes;
- Ability to adapt to an environment where change is frequent, and process ambiguity exists;
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and maintain tact and professionalism in stressful situations.
