Testimonials:
- "I didn't expect to have my eyes opened as widely as I did during the four months as Sponsored Employee, nor did I ever think that the 12 other individuals I sat around the table with on day one would become best friends for life. United Way helped prepare me for those four months by opening my eyes to the community that we live in, connecting me with those in need so that I could tell their stories and raise awareness. Being a Sponsored Employee changed me - both professionally and personally I highly recommend this role to anyone who wants to learn more about their community, while developing their professional skills."_ (Grace Kelly, 2016 Sponsored Employee, Western University)
- "When I look back on my time as a Sponsored Employee, I am most grateful for the sense of community and belonging it facilitated. Hearing stories of triumph from United Way sponsored programs filled me with hope and ambition and working alongside some of the most earnest and compassionate people I have had the pleasure of encountering inspired me to be a more genuine and generous person. I met volunteer champions across campus who demonstrated remarkable ingenuity and dedication, and showed me that ordinary people can have an extraordinary impact. While this role enabled me to further develop project management and public speaking skills, what set this opportunity apart from others was its ability to broaden my horizons and strengthen my sense of place and purpose." _(Jasmine Ball, 2018 Sponsored Employee, Western University)
