Under the direction of the Director, Volunteer Services, the Hairdresser will provide hair services for patients and clients at both Providence Care Hospital and Providence Transitional Care Centre.

The Hairdresser will escort patients and visitors to their destination as required. The Hairdresser will demonstrate the Mission, Vision, Values and Ethics of Providence Care Hospital in each interaction.


Skills and Qualifications Required:


  • Current Hair Stylist Certification
  • 1 year current experience working as a hair stylist
  • Working in a healthcare environment an asset

Position Responsibilities:


  • Provides fullservice hair styling from shampooing and cutting to colouring and other treatments. Primary responsibilities are giving haircuts, dealing facetoface with patients/clients, and making recommendations for hair styles.
  • Works in compliance with the Health & Safety Act and its regulations in performing duties in a Rsafe manner and follows all health and safety policies, procedures and legislation including, wearing the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), as required
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
  • Able to work in a fast pace environment
  • Must perform safe infection control practices
