$23.86 per hour (as per the Collective Agreement)
Job Summary
Reporting to the School Principal, in conjunction with the Manager and Supervisor, DECE, the Designated Early Childhood Educator will be responsible in accordance with the Education Act, The Kindergarten Program Document 2016 and Growing Success - The Kindergarten Addendum, to work collaboratively and in partnership with the classroom teacher to implement a play-based program based on the Four Frames.
Qualifications / Experience
Two year Community College Early Childhood Education Diploma.
Member in good standing with the Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators.
Valid certificate in First Aid and CPR.
Knowledge of the Kindergarten Program Document, 2016.
Experience in planning, documenting and implement a play/inquiry-based program.
Ability to communicate in a sensitive, courteous manner with children, parents, staff and the community.
Proven ability to deal with classroom management, stressful and emergency situations in a calm professional manner, while taking appropriate actions based on Board policies and procedures.
Must be able to physically lift up to 50 pounds and provide assistance and/or supervision as it relates to toileting.
This position is covered by the C.U.P.E Local Collective Agreement.
an original Criminal Reference Check including Vulnerable Sector Screening, dated within the last six (6) months
a Pastoral Letter of Reference from a Roman Catholic Priest, dated within the last twelve (12) months
