Job Description:

Roofmart, a major Canadian distributor of residential, commercial Roofing and Siding products, requires an Assistant Controller to join our organization.

With over 50 locations across Canada, we are strategically positioned to handle all of our customers' needs.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, driven, and out-of-the box thinker to manage the accounting process for our entities.
In this role, you will be a key member of our Shared Services Team. You will assist in preparing statements that follow all regulatory and accounting guidelines under the supervision of the controller. You will be responsible for identifying and preventing discrepancies and helping set up control systems. You will sharpen your analytical skills by performing variance and trend analysis, "what-if" scenarios and financial statement commentary.

You will demonstrate an understanding of the business by always looking to improve processes, find efficiencies, and provide feedback that will drive our business to the next while providing world class support to our Branch Services.

The exciting and challenging goal will be to lead and manage the senior accountants and intermediate accountants, gaining valuable accounting experience and business knowledge along the way.

Occasional travel will be required.

Qualifications:

Professional accounting designation completed
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Excellent communication skills
Previous experience managing a finance team
