Responsibilities of the Position:
- Provide flightfollowing to aircraft being ferried to/from project location, as well as for local CYOW equipment testing and pilot training;
- Collect and review pilot log books to ensure that operational limitations as per CARs Standard 722, Division X are maintained;
- Maintain pilot training records for validity and training recurrency requirements and liaise with industry training providers to coordinate training upgrades and upkeep (FlightSafety, water egress, first aid, PCC, etc);
- Monitor pilot files for inhouse training validity and issue reminders and provide followup when initial or recurrent training becomes due;
- Assist in the production of training materials and their dissemination;
- Track daily flight plans and weight and balance documents to ensure completion and accuracy;
- Manage operational equipment inventories (life vests, iPads, GPS', life rafts, headsets, satellite phones, etc) to ensure their recertification deadlines are met and life span limitations are not exceeded;
- Update GPS databases, subscriptions and satellite radios receivers;
- Order supplies suited to project requirements and create, update and close purchase orders as necessary;
- Update the Flight Operations section of the internal Wiki with the latest manuals, forms, and documents;
- Validate local and international airspace usage and landing fees;
- Assist in the transfer and control of project documents and upkeep to their directories;
- Prepare amendments to department forms and manuals as requested;
- Report any findings with regard to quality assurance, including compliance and nonconformance to the Quality Assurance Manager:
- Support deployed pilots and other field crew members with logistics and documentation assistance;
- Understand, adhere to, and promote all company safety precautions and policies including reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; and
- Other duties as requested.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Ability to obtain a Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC) for the Ottawa international airport;
- Proficient and comfortable with the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.);
- Advanced ability to multitask, as well as competent time management, and organizational skills;
- Selfmotivated, independent and proactive requiring mínimal supervision; and
