What is the opportunity?


RBC Capital Markets Global Investment Banking division is seeking an Analyst to join the
Syndicated and Leveraged Finance team in Toronto.

This position is a unique opportunity to develop a broad financial skillset and gain exposure to global capital markets.

The role is intended for individuals who wish to build a long-term career in Investment Banking with a market leading franchise and global platform.


What will you do?

  • Perform financial analysis and due diligence in the context of originating, structuring, and executing debt related financing transactions (including LBOs)
  • Monitor and develop an understanding of debt market themes relevant to RBC's corporate clients
  • Participate on deal teams executing syndicated loan financings backing corporate M&A, LBOs, project financings, and general corporate purposes
  • Analyze and maintain databases tracking debt financing activity and other market intelligence
  • Assist with preparation of pitch & advisory presentations, responses to RFPs, and other adhoc market research
  • Prepare, review, and summarize marketing materials and other documentation for debt related financing transactions including confidential information memoranda
  • Collaborate with other teams across Investment Banking in Canada, the U.S. and globally to drive successful outcomes for our clients

What do you need to succeed?

  • 1 2 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, equity research, corporate development, or accounting, will be considered beneficial
  • University degree, preferably in business/commerce, economics, "STEM" or other relevant discipline
  • Demonstrated superior track record in academic and professional endeavors
  • A clearly defined interest in investment banking and financial markets, and basic knowledge of market structure and themes
  • Energy, motivation, and a teamoriented mindset
  • Strong computer skills, including high proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Quantitative, analytical, and financial modeling skills
  • Adept written and verbal communication and data visualization skills
  • Exceptional organization and time management skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure with multiple deadlines while maintaining scrupulous attention to detail
  • Flexibility in schedule to meet client deadlines
  • Desire to develop a leadership skillset and make meaningful contributions in a fastpaced, team environment
  • CFA, CPA, P.Eng. or other relevant professional designations are considered an asset but not a requirement
