The COVID19 Antigen Tester completes COVID19 Rapid Antigen testing for those entering Riverview Gardens including all staff, visitors, volunteers and students.

Essential responsibilities

Demonstrate Chatham-Kent's core values and competencies

Safely and competently administer COVID19 Rapid Antigen tests to staff, visitors, students, volunteers, and others entering the facility.

Complete required documentation and tracking related to COVID19 testing

Communicate results of Rapid Antigen Testing

Follow Ministry of Long-Term Care and Chatham-Kent Public Health direction on Infection Prevention and Control for Long-Term Care

Provide front line customer service

Complete occasional cleaning/disinfecting of the workspace

Perform clerical duties as required
Other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned

Essential qualifications

Secondary school diploma, or equivalent education (e.g. GED certificate), with related experience

Experience working in a reception or customer services position in an office environment

Experience with statistical tracking and reporting

Strong customer service skills

Strong communication and follow-up skills

Strong organizational skills

Basic computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Ability to prioritize, stay calm and multi-task under pressure

Attention to detail

Ability to follow instructions

All employees will be required to complete their Health & Safety and other online mandatory training on or before their first day of employment; other training may also be required

Work environment/hours of work

This position works indoors

This position works weekday, afternoon, evening and weekend hours.

Background check requirements


This position works with vulnerable residents in a position of trust and authority, on a sustained and regular basis, in a largely unsupervised capacity.

A Vulnerable Sector Screen is required (Fixing Long-Term Care Act section 252 O. Reg. 246/22) prior to being accepted for employment. You must be 18 years of age or older to obtain a vulnerable police check.


All staff members shall promptly provide the employer with a signed declaration disclosing new charges, convictions, orders and restraining orders, consistent with Ontario Regulation section 253 O.

Reg 246/22 made under the Fixing Long-Term Care Act, with respect to the period since the date the person's last criminal reference check under subsection (2) was conducted

Essential physical and/or safety requirements

Occasional bending or squatting to pick up boxes or take testing kits out of boxes

Frequent walking on level surfaces to complete rapid testing process

Frequent sitting in a chair at a desk/table

Occasional lifting of boxes and supllies inclduing PPE and testing equipment

Frequent standing while greeting/talking with staff, residents, caregivers or visitors or while conducting the rapid testing.

Occasional fine finger dexterity on the keyboard/computer and gripping of a mouse while using a computer.
Frequent fine finger dexterity while gripping and pinching of rapid testing equipment
