Duties:


The Director, Primary Care and Clinical Services:

  • Consistently supports and communicates the mission and values of the directorate
  • Is responsible for the oversight of the Regional Nursing Operations and its program delivery
  • Is responsible for the overall nursing budget in the Saskatchewan Region, managed according to Treasury Board Guidelines
  • Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to provide expert advice, knowledge and support to health professionals, communities and organizations
  • Prepares reports and briefings on emerging trends and issues related to nursing, primary health care and allied clinical program areas
  • Provides leadership and direction for the development of strategies which promote recruitment, retention, and excellence in healthcare service delivery
  • Participates as a critical member of the Senior Management team for the Saskatchewan Region

The immediate need is to staff this position on an indeterminate basis out of Regina, Saskatchewan.

Education:


  • Graduation with a Master's degree from a recognized postsecondary institution with an acceptable specialization in nursing, nursing service administration, nursing education or some other specialty relevant to the position
Degree equivalency


Occupational Certification:

  • Eligibility for registration as a Registered Nurse in a province or territory of Canada

Experience:


  • Significant* experience providing Community Health (Public Health, Home & Community Care) or Primary Care nursing services
  • Experience leading the development, implementation or evaluation of a health care program
  • Experience in the management and allocation of human or financial resources

Asset Qualifications:

  • Experience managing funding arrangements such as grants and contribution agreements
  • Experience liaising with and maintaining relations with Indigenous organizations or government partners
  • Experience providing direct health services to Indigenous populations
