We are seeking a Mechanical Supervisor to join our Maintenance Team located at our Joffre Site in Central Alberta, near Red Deer.

This team is responsible for ensuring equipment reliability and availability. The team provides day to day maintenance support to ensure equipment meets the demanding production levels of the plant.


You Will Use Your Expertise To:
Ensure all aspects of Responsible Care principles, policies and procedures are consistently met by team
Provide leadership and resource deployment to a team of maintenance technicians and contractors
Manage the performance of technicians and conduct performance reviews to provide timely feedback to encourage self-development
Hold accountability for Safety, Productivity and Quality of all work performed
Ensure applicable maintenance procedures and standards are consistently met
Lead, review and follow-up on incidents utilizing the Enablon learning system
Identify and eliminate barriers that impede and/or limit execution effectiveness
Achieve performance goals aligned to Maintenance Execution
Work co-operatively and collaboratively with all other Maintenance Supervisors to achieve site KPIs and identify Manufacturing West priorities
Enable the efficiency and effectiveness of the maintenance function


What We Are Looking For:

A valid Alberta Mechanical trades Journeyman Certificate with Inter-provincial designation.
Mechanical engineering diploma or equivalent will also be considered.
A minimum 12+ years post journeyman maintenance experience.
Demonstrated personal commitment to Responsible Care.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills along with good communication skills.
Proven capability to work to broadly defined objectives, overcoming barriers.
Strong troubleshooting, conflict management, leadership and facilitation skills.
Demonstrated ability in performance management, mentoring and coaching.
Demonstrated ability to influence and lead an integrated and self-managing team.
Demonstrated ability to achieve efficiencies against business goals.
Demonstrated initiative and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
Working knowledge of Maintenance Work Management (MWM) Processes (i.e. notifications, work orders, planning, scheduling, execution and follow-up).
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and technical knowledge, and the ability to work effectively with Maintenance, Operations and Engineering Teams.

Additional Information:

Relocation will be considered for this position
Compensation will be commensurate with education and experience
This role requires up to 10% travel
Work will be conducted both indoors and outdoors in all seasons
Positions will include some lifting and climbing of ladders within various levels of the units
Overtime and callouts are a requirement of the role due to the 24 hour per day plant operation
