Air Liquide is presently looking for a Payroll Supervisor to join the Pay Team in Montreal.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
-
Coordinates and manages the payroll process:Organizes and controls the preparation and issuance of payroll and all related reports on a timely basis and in compliance with all federal and provincial legislation. Ensures the issuance and balancing of government remittances. Completes related government payroll reports. Keeps abreast of all changes in new government legislation and other government agencies.

Administers various payroll related programs:Ensures the administration of Canada and Quebec Savings Bonds, Canada Workers Compensation, Employee RRSP Program, Computer Purchase Program, T4's, Payroll Registers, Cheques and T4's for the Board of Directors, among others.

Reviews and analyzes reports:Summarizes and analyzes payroll management information. Verifies and balances all payroll and accounting reports. Performs account analysis for workers' compensation, wages, vacation, terminations, gain sharing and management performance awards.

Provides training to team members:Ensures that each team member is properly trained in the operation of payroll so that they can meet local and corporate objectives. Provides feedback and support to team members in their efforts to meet qualitative and quantitative objectives. Conducts a performance evaluation for each team member.

Process Improvement:Works with team and cross-functional teams to continuously improve work processes. Ensures information is communicated and proposes new ways of working.

Quality / Safety:Promotes ALC's safety and quality objectives. Knows and follows all procedures as outlined in the ALC Quality Manual. Ensures that appropriate corrective and preventive actions are in place to address customer complaints.

TRAINING AND KNOWLEDGE:


  • Degree: College degree in accounting combined with relevant experience.
  • Training: Internal payroll system, conferences on law, taxes, etc.
  • Knowledge: Employee supervision, computerized systems, MS Office, oral and written communication skills, bilingualism.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:10 years experience in a computerized payroll system, 5 years of which are in a supervisory capacity.
