We are looking to bring on
Ticketed Sprinkler Fitters for full-time employment - installers with experience on commercial and multi-unit residential projects (a strong background working in the industry), who would like to lead their own crew and job-sites

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Safety

  • Ensure crew members are properly oriented to the job site.
  • Complete FLHA reports as per site specifications and EFP policy.
  • Lead Weekly toolbox meetings with crew.
  • Ensure an appropriate supply of applicable documentation on site (FLHA, Tool Box Meetings, etc.)
  • Confirm that crew members have applicable training and certifications (fall protection, scissor lift training, areal boom lift, respirator fit test, etc.)
  • Inspect power cords, tools & ladders to ensure they are in safe working condition.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures set by Escape Fire Protection.

Employee Management

  • Conduct morning crew meetings to discuss, condition of tools, goals and material levels.
  • Mentor team members including Apprentices and Entry-Level Sprinkler Fitters
  • Report timediscrepancies and absences to the office.
  • Complete applicable evaluations, reviews and/or training for assigned employees

Material & Tool Management

  • Assist in the ordering of material for the assigned project.
  • Oversee the security, organization and storage of material and tools on site.
  • Understand the awarded purchaseorders (major orders to be handled by the Field Super / Senior Foreman)
  • Ensure rental equipment is returned on time and in good working order.

Job Site Management

  • Understand the scope of work in the site's contract.
  • Install Escape Fire Protection stickers on all headboxes.
  • Test and inspect work being completed.
  • Notify the Senior Foreman / Field Superintendent regarding any upcoming municipal inspections and engineer inspections.
  • Confirm with Senior Foreman / Field Superintendent before anything is covered without an inspection.
  • Achieve required job schedule & goals, as discussed with the Senior Foreman / Field Superintendent.

Documentation

  • Document and report any changes or discussions with the client to the Senior Foreman / Field Superintendent.
  • Attend and document site meetings.
  • Keep accurate record(s) / drawings throughout construction.
  • Record all low point drains.
  • Ensure work orders sent to the office are complete and legible.
  • Submit applicable forms and reports as per EFP policy.
  • Forward pictures of any areas that cannot be inspected before they are covered, to the office.

General Duties

  • Assist in toolsetup, takedown and maintenance of work area.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams and schematics.
  • Follow design specifications to select the appropriate size of pipe and required materials.
  • Install overhead sprinkler systems, hose systems, fire mains, underground systems, etc., in accordance with building and fire codes.
  • Operate power tools, machinery including, but not limited to pipe threaders, pipe cutters, groovers and core drills.
  • Install clamps, brackets and hangers to support piping and sprinkler systems.
  • Install valves, alarms, controls and associated equipment.
  • Interpret Building Codes and Standards for sprinkler systems, standpipe, and hydrants
  • Understand fabrication sheets, as prepared by Escape Fire Protection.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Hours of Work

  • Full-Time, Permanent
  • Monday to Friday
  • 8hour shifts
  • Please note that compensation is dependent on experience / schooling completed._
