Distribution Supervisor - Winnipeg, Canada - Imperial Dade

Imperial Dade Canada, leading national distributor, has a job open in Winnipeg. This position supervises the Dayshift warehouse employees. They are responsible for the combination of picking and loading of products.They will work to ensure efficient distribution, monitor cleanliness and working conditions of the facility and equipment and use analytical data and operational metrics to supervise warehouse employees to meet performance goals and minimize costs.
This person will work with the supervisor team to improve pick accuracy and operational strategies and to achieve distribution objectives while meeting customer requirements.
As well as maintain a professional and courteous relationship with all sales, management, customer service, office personnel, and customers.The hours for this position: 6:00am - 3:00pm Monday to Friday

Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership, mentorship and supervision to all warehouse employees.
- Promote a culture of safety at every opportunity with employees. Ensure safety procedures are being followed strictly and that work is performed in a safe and efficient manner.
- Supervise the daily workflow in the areas of order picking, receiving and truck loading.
- Identify process improvements, increase efficiency and productivity to achieve budget targets and operational metrics.
- Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure effective internal and external customer service.
- Ensure standard productivity and error standards are consistently met.
- Provide orientation and ongoing training.
- Assess manpower requirements necessary to maintain established service levels.
- Support coworkers on day shift / night shift
Qualifications:
- A College Diploma or a equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred, within distribution, logistics and transportation.
- Experience leading employees in a unionized work environment.
- Experience in training, motivating, coaching employees.
- Excellent written/oral communication and listening skills.
- Ability to multitask and have excellent time management skills.
- Strong planning, organization, and customer relations skills.
- Excellent leadership, customer relations and interpersonal skills.
- Computer literate with Windows based software programs, Transportation tracking systems and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
