Supply Chain Analyst - Milton, Canada - DSV - Global Transport and Logistics
Description
Core Purpose and Essence of the Position : The Supply Chain Analyst will be part of the Operations department and work closely with cross-functional teams to identify key metrics, generate insights, and implement data-driven strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve customer satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Data Analysis and Visualization:
Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and correlations related to key performance indicators (KPIs) such as inventory levels, transportation costs, and delivery times.
Create visualizations, dashboards, and reports to communicate insights effectively to stakeholders.
Predictive Modeling and Forecasting:
Build predictive models to forecast demand, optimize inventory levels, and improve resource allocation.
Utilize statistical techniques and machine learning algorithms to identify opportunities for process improvement and risk mitigation.
Performance Monitoring and Optimization:
Monitor the performance of logistics operations in real-time, identifying deviations from benchmarks and recommending corrective actions.
Collaborate with operations teams to implement continuous improvement initiatives based on data-driven insights.
Maintain the shrink reporting of inventory control.
PRIMARY INTERACTIONS:
The primary exchange will be working with Leadership and Warehouse Operations Management
REPORTS TO:
Director, Customer Support
REQURIED COMPETENCIES
Bachelor's degree in data science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
Proven experience as a Data Analyst or in a similar role, preferably within the logistics or supply chain industry.
Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation from relational databases.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets and extract actionable insights.
Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or matplotlib.
Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or R for data analysis and modeling.
Knowledge of statistical techniques and machine learning algorithms for predictive analytics.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to present findings and recommendations to non-technical stakeholders.
Strong attention to detail and a passion for problem-solving in a dynamic environment.
