Jacobs is seeking a Road Design lead to support ongoing project needs.

As a
Road Design Lead you will be responsible for design and undertake project management duties to drive forward multi-disciplinary project related to roads, ensure strict timescales and drive the teams to meet delivery dates.

You will also be responsible to provide technical expertise as related to roads and multi - disciplinary design processes and manage multi-disciplinary teams in the development of projects.


Job responsibilities:


  • Project management of roads related infrastructure design from feasibility through to detailed design phase
  • Lead the delivery of design
  • Development of project specifications
  • Carry out design reviews
  • Support in the preparation and management of project discipline budgets, resourcing and scheduling
  • Delivery of project outcomes on time and within budget and quality
  • Build effective relationship between teams and across the organization
  • Provide leadership to the team and to ensure all projects are delivered on schedule, quality and budget

Here's what you'll need:


  • BSc (minimum) degree in the scope of transportation or civil engineering or relative discipline
  • Licensed (or eligible to be licensed) as a professional engineer in the Province of Alberta
  • Minimum 8 years of experience with proven track record of managing and successful delivery of multidisciplinary projects
  • Knowledge and experience in the delivery of major road projects
  • Strong experience of road design using 3D modelling tools, such as Civil 3D
  • Be commercially aware and able to lead teams to program workloads and successfully deliver projects to time, budget and quality
  • Experience with the use of project management software (Primavera, MSProject)
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
