- Collaborating with the Board of Directors and senior leadership team, set the strategic direction for the organization, continuously assessing and adapting strategies and tactics to address emerging challenges and opportunities.
- Empower a high-performing team of professionals and build positive employee and labour relations to deliver on the organization's strategic goals and priorities.

- Cultivate and maintain relationships with a strong network of contacts to stay informed of opportunities, community and industry developments and best practices.
- Represent the organization externally as necessary and build excitement for YWCA's mission and participant-centred impact.
- In partnership with senior leadership team, leverage cross-program strengths to identify and pursue new opportunities for social enterprise development and expansion of YWCA's hub model of integrated programs and services, including:
- Develop market and competitive analyses to identify trends, opportunities and areas for differentiation in the Hotel, Health + Fitness, child care and other potential areas of expansion.
- Lead research and development of business models, strategies and implementation plans.
- Build relationships with private and non-profit sector and government to explore innovative models and advance new opportunities.
- In partnership with the management team, provide strategic leadership to achieve objectives of YWCA's Hotel, Health + Fitness and Early Learning and Child Care Centres including:
- Establish and implement comprehensive business and marketing strategies to advance the organization's objectives, including pricing and revenue generation and impact measurement to optimize outcomes and maintain high standards for guest, member and parent satisfaction.
- Optimize processes, track and analyze performance and mitigate operating risks and
- Develop capital maintenance and replacement plans to enhance and optimize our facilities, to meet the evolving needs of guests, members and/or parents/ children.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing or a related field or a combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in strategy, operations, business development, revenue generation, including five years in a leadership role, preferably within a complex organization.
- Demonstrated track record of successfully identifying, launching and/or overseeing social enterprise ventures.
- Strong understanding of social entrepreneurship principles, business modelling and impact measurement.
- Advanced level of business acumen to identify risks and leverage opportunities that can be proactively addressed.
- Ability to embrace new technologies, processes and systems, and navigate the changing landscape of business operations to achieve strategic outcomes.
- Experience in labour relations, working collaboratively with bargaining units and union representatives is an asset.
- Experience working with governance boards and committees is an asset.
- Exceptional inclusive people leadership skills, commitment to IDEA (inclusion, diversity, equity and accessibility) principles and advancing Truth and Reconciliation.
- Ability to foster innovation, lead change, and respectfully collaborate across many diverse teams.

- A valid clear criminal record check (including working with vulnerable populations) is required.
- The YWCA Metro Vancouver's COVID-19 vaccination policy is currently suspended and as a result, vaccination from COVID-19 is not required at this time. Description
A key member of the senior leadership team, this new role will lead an experienced management team operating YWCA's two social enterprises Hotel and Health + Fitness and four childcare centers in Vancouver, as well as proactively identify opportunities to expand and deepen our community impact. This position plays a pivotal role in helping to advance our strategic goals, outlined in our Strategic Plan – Forward with Purpose.
Reporting to the CEO, you bring a proven track record of strategic leadership and change management in a complex, multi-faceted service delivery organization, with 81 programs and services offered in 132 locations, powered by a dedicated team of over 600 employees, an operating budget of $58 million and significant capital assets, investments and reserves. In addition, you are committed to upholding our commitments and values to advance YWCA's mission.
