Recognized throughout Southwestern Ontario as a leader in children's (birth-14 years) mental health, Vanier Children's Mental Wellness provides innovative treatment programs and services for children, experiencing emotional and behavioural challenges.

As a registered charity and not-for-profit agency, Vanier has been in operation for over 54 years and is funded by the Ontario government.

Vanier Children's Mental Wellness mission is to improve the lives of infants, children, and their families through the provision of mental health services based on clinical excellence, collaboration, partnerships, and system leadership.

Appointed by the Ontario Government as "Lead Agency for Child/Youth Mental Health (CYMH) System Management" in London-Middlesex (2014), Vanier is also accountable for community-wide Child/Youth Mental Health System Planning.


Position Summary:


Reporting to the Director of Clinical Services, the Manager provides clinical leadership and supervision to health professionals working in interdisciplinary teams working in community and intensive programs and services.

Our compassionate and experienced staff provide high quality mental health treatment to children with complex social, emotional, and mental health needs using a trauma informed approach.

The Manager will have a strong commitment to quality, and will plan, implement, and evaluate clinical programs and services, participate in quality improvement projects, and collaborate with community partners to build a responsive system for children and families requiring mental health treatment and supports.


Education/Training/Experience:


  • A master's degree in social work or a related field preferred, other combinations of relevant education and experience will be considered
  • Minimum three five years' experience in clinical supervision in mental health
  • Must be a member of a regulated college and in good standing (one of the six colleges recognized by CRPO).
  • Experience working within a livein treatment program is an asset
  • Proven interpersonal skills in verbal and written communication
  • Experience in leading teams in a unionized setting and implementing human resource policies and practices and leading in a unionized environment.
  • Demonstrated success in leading high performing teams and serve as a clinical resource
  • Experience in team management, change management and quality improvement
  • Knowledge and experience in program planning, design, and evaluation
  • French-English proficiency or other languages is desirable (an asset)
  • A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle
  • Specialized training in a variety of treatment modalities that are consistent and integrated within Vanier's Service Delivery Framework
  • A Vulnerable Sector Check and COVID and TB vaccination are required
