Position overview


Are you a critical thinker that enjoys varied work and strives for continuous improvement to ensure YVR is the best it can be? In this role, you will work with a team of dynamic self-starters to ensure plans are in place for successful delivery of our operation.

You will work across the airport community to build and maintain operational plans and procedures that address routine operational requirements, and those required for business continuity in contingency situations, and ensure the broad airside team is ready to use them


Key responsibilities include:


  • Building and maintaining operational and contingency plans and ensuring broad proficiency in those plans
  • Process improvement, service delivery and contract oversight in support of the operational needs
  • Stakeholder engagement, and participation in project teams, emergency exercises and event debriefs as lead for the team
  • Airside Risk Mitigation, working with broader team to capture and respond to high priority areas

Key qualifications include:


  • At least three years' experience in an operational environment, preferably in aviation, supplemented by a postsecondary education in Operations Management, Emergency Planning or related discipline; or equivalent combination of training and airport experience
  • Detailed knowledge of Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) and Aviation Regulation
  • Proven ability to work and make decisions in a complex, technical environment with mínimal supervision
  • Experience working with multiple levels of internal and stakeholder groups
  • A preference for working with an entrepreneurial, fastpaced team
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated critical thinking capability, with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Proficient with MS 36
  • A valid Class 5 driver's license and the ability to obtain a D/A AVOP license
