  • CONTRACT DURATION: 14 months (June September

HOURLY WAGE:
$25.00
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensures chemical and physical testing of cements are conducted as per API, ASTM and CSA test methods and standards.
  • Ensures the reliability and calibration of chemical testing equipment as required as well as being responsible for equipment condition and maintenance.
  • Ensures the reliability and calibration of physical testing equipment as well as being responsible for equipment condition and maintenance.
  • Ensures the compiling, reporting and accuracy of the physical and/or chemical testing quality assurance data.
  • Responsible for work order and requisition entry as required.
  • Responsible for preparation and storage of samples for retention.
  • Ensures that samples for testing are batched out according to API, ASTM, CSA, methods.
  • Responsible for monthly LQTS (internal) compliance, as well as biannual C114 certification and compliance. (Including record keeping)

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • A twoyear chemical technology course is preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience in quality control or a laboratory setting is preferred.


  • TRAINING

  • ASTM, CSA and API test methods and standards
  • Quality Indoctrination
  • Cement manufacturing process
  • Operation, maintenance and calibration of chemical and physical testing equipment.
  • Training in various sample preparation methods
  • SAP Training
  • TIS/LIMS Training
  • XRF Training (including basic use and operation, troubleshooting)
  • XRD Training (including basic use and operation, troubleshooting)
  • AODocs (Document Control) Training


  • PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES

  • Must be able to work Monday to Friday 07:30 16:00 Hrs. Must be willing and able to perform work that includes manual lifting, carrying and moving tools and equipment; intermittent walking and standing; regular bending
