The Communications team is passionate about keeping internal and external stakeholders informed.

They manage and deliver internal and external corporate communications across the enterprise, including coworker engagement, news and information sharing, community relations and corporate reputation management.

This position is responsible for developing and implementing communications campaigns that connect our coworkers, technology partners, media and influencers, and our customers to CDW's vision and strategic messages.


What you'll do:


  • Identify, plan, develop and execute strategic communication programs aligned to key company priorities that inform, educate, and engage key stakeholders.
  • Proven leadership skills to motivate team members and provide technical direction, feedback, coaching, and guidance, while monitoring, coordinating, and ensuring completion of work on communications initiatives.
  • Proven ability to work at both strategic and tactical levels to deliver outcomes that drive measurable business objectives and success metrics.
  • Pursue editorial / press opportunities with relevant industry verticals, business media etc.; Mine story and industry award opportunities within the organization that can bolster CDW's reputation as the leading integrated technology solutions provider.
  • Build and maintain media/influencer relationships and surface opportunities for spokespeople to provide thought leadership on relevant technology trends etc.
  • Understand the shifting media ecosystem and identify opportunities to integrate earned and paid programming and storytelling, as well as take advantage of emerging media outlets that are relevant to our audiences.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage platforms like LinkedIn as part of earned media strategies.
  • Develop strong working relationships with coworkers and key stakeholders to drive awareness and engagement with internal and external communication opportunities and protocols.
  • Lead spokesperson training for CDW spokespeople to serve as company spokespeople; ensure a comprehensive representation of CDW leaders and coworkers and make recommendations on spokespeople for given opportunities; ensure spokespeople are prepared for interviews and other external visibility opportunities.
  • Ensure external facing company materials and online newsroom reflect brand and company priorities.
  • Write informative and compelling communication materials, including press releases, talking points, company fact sheets and presentations, website copy, and social media posts.
  • Monitor trends in external positioning, thought leadership across industry and competitive landscape, measure progress and impact of CDW programs and adapt as necessary.
  • Ensure that program activities operate within the approved budget.
  • Manage relationships with agencies and thirdparty service providers to achieve desired program outcomes.
  • Support partner quote, case study and press release requests.

What you need to succeed:


Must-have:


  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5 years of professional experience in corporate communications, marketing, public relations, agency or inhouse communications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate and influence at all levels of the company including Senior Leadership.
  • Strong ability to always maintain discretion and confidentiality when dealing with highly sensitive business matters or proprietary information.
  • Ability to think outside the box and operate with a sense of urgency in developing communications materials that resonate with audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data and conduct primary research; able to gather, analyze, package and make thoughtful recommendations based on insights from data.
  • Proven track record in developing and maintaining strategic relationships.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence.
  • Experience with metrics, tracking, and reporting.
  • Impeccable attention to detail and ability to adapt in a fastchanging environment.
  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office; Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to travel as needed.

Nice-to-have:


  • B2B experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of technology product offerings and solutions.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, etc.)
