Introduction:


The Anglican Diocese of Ottawa (ADO) is a dedicated Sponsorship Agreement Holder (SAH) under the Canadian government's Private Sponsorship of Refugees program.

With a rich history of assisting refugees from diverse backgrounds and faiths, we work closely with Anglican parishes and other community-based groups to provide safe haven and support to those in need.

We are currently seeking a compassionate and experienced Case Manager to join our Refugee Ministry Office (RMO) team and contribute to our mission of helping refugees successfully resettle in Canada.


Job Summary:


Responsibilities:


Refugee Sponsorship Application Management:


  • Provide comprehensive guidance and training to Constituent Groups in fulfilling their responsibilities related to the arrival, settlement, and integration of refugees.
  • Ensure adherence to the Diocese's responsibilities as a Sponsorship Agreement Holder.
  • Maintaining relations with other Refugee Sponsorship stakeholders.

Program Management:


  • Effectively communicate, both in person and in writing, to address inquiries and provide information about the refugee sponsorship program.
  • Maintain accurate sponsorship databases, generate reports, and ensure compliance with program guidelines.
  • Manage funds for refugee resettlement, adhering to directives from Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

Community Relations:
Collaborate with constituent and advocacy groups to promote the refugee program, providing information and tools to diverse audiences.
Support the Director in developing presentation materials, organizing community meetings, and engaging in speaking engagements.
Maintain detailed records of all correspondence and inquiries.


Leadership:


Requirements:


  • Postsecondary education in social work, political science, legal studies, international relations, migration studies, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of case management experience in a social work or community services environment.
  • Proficient in using a variety of software, including MS Office, and previous experience with case management software.
  • French and/or Arabic language skills would be a definite plus.
  • This position may require occasional weekend and evening availability to accommodate the needs of refugees and constituent groups.
