RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre.
Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University.
The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).Position summary
Under the general supervision of Dr Carolyn Jack, the Junior Assistant will be responsible for the specific role described below, as part of CTTB.
General Duties- Recruit, screen, and enroll eligible participants for research studies, ensuring informed consent and compliance with ethical guidelines,
- Collect, record, and manage research data with attention to accuracy, confidentiality, and data integrity,
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including investigators, study coordinators, and research staff, to ensure smooth execution of research activities,
- Coordinate study visits, including scheduling participant appointments, conducting study procedures, and ensuring participant compliance,
- Monitor and document adverse events and protocol deviations, implementing corrective actions when necessary,
- Maintain study documentation, including source documents, case report forms, and study binders, in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines,
- Assist in the preparation of study reports, presentations, and manuscripts for publication.
Education / Experience
Education:
Bachelor's degree in a field such as life sciences, medical technology, nursing or a related field.
Work Experience:
- 0 to 6 months experience as a junior assistant, preferably in a research or healthcare environment,
- Knowledge of clinical research regulations, Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines and ethical considerations,
- Skills in clinical research data management, including data collection, entry, and quality assurance,
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines,
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data management and documentation,
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with research teams and study participants,
- Bilingualism in French and English, both spoken and written.
Status:
Temporary Part-Time, 1 year contract
Pay Scale:
$22.00/hour
Work Shift: 15 hours a week (Mondays from 12PM - 4PM, Wednesdays from 7AM - 3PM and Fridays from 9AM - 12PM)
