In this position you will assist various individuals in all programs with physical and developmental disabilities, mental health disorders and some complex behaviours to enrich their quality of life in their homes and communities.

Hours:
The hours for this position are
CASUAL and can vary, including days, evenings, weekends, Statutory Holidays and overnights. Flexibility is required as shifts may vary based on program needs.

Casual staff are required to work a minimum of 16 hours per month.

In your role you will:

̈ Connect with and develop helping relationships with individuals with disabilities

̈ Act as a strong advocate for individuals in the community

̈ Work effectively as a team with the individuals and their support team to help achieve their goals

̈ Complete daily documentation

̈ Support and participate in recreation and leisure activities

̈ Perform administrative and cleaning duties relating to the operation of the home

̈ Participate in on-going program development

̈ Completion of High School diploma

̈ Six (6) months experience working within the Human Services field

̈ Equivalencies may be considered

̈ Security Clearance Check; including the Vulnerable Persons Sector Check (from within the last 6 months)

̈ Valid Class 5 drivers license, current drivers abstract, auto insurance and reliable vehicle
are required
̈ Emergency First Aid-Level A CPR + AED

̈ Strong verbal and written communication skills

̈ Computer/Word processing skills

̈ Ability to assist with personal care

̈ Experience supporting individuals with Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Fragile X and FASD would be an asset

̈ Ability to implement approved restrictive practices

̈ Desire to see individuals succeed

Rate of Pay:
Awake rate-$20.19 per hour; Sleep rate-$16.20 per hour
