Accreditation Specialist
FICS is seeking an experienced accreditation specialist to support the organization's accreditation clients and services. This role is focussed on quality improvement in accreditation processes, and coordination and leadership of accreditation programs.


The small but mighty FICS team provides consulting services such as facilitation, leadership development, and accreditation program development and management, and we are growing FICS' current accreditation clients are in the fields of education and healthcare and include organizations such as the Canadian Massage Therapy Council for Accreditation, the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals, and the Canadian Construction Association.

Our services include standards development and revision, accreditation program evaluation and improvement, and accreditation program design and management.

The successful applicant will be collaborative, detail-oriented, and organized.

They should have a strong commitment to continuous quality improvement through accreditation, and the ability to communicate accreditation concepts with clarity.

This role will require excellent team leadership and project/process management skills, and the ability to build relationships with clients and partners.

Regular travel within Canada as part of accreditation site review teams and accreditation education sessions will be required.

This opportunity offers a full-time salary range of between $62,000.00-$72,000.00 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Promoting and Coordinating Accreditation Programs_
  • Maintain organizational tools and processes to track accreditation timelines and deliverables, contact information, and work with education programs and survey teams to meet accreditation review requirements.
  • Act as a supportive resource to education programs throughout their accreditation journey, assisting them in achieving or maintaining accreditation status, and championing accreditation as a quality improvement tool to new programs interested in accreditation.
  • Coordinate accreditation reviews, from planning through to site visit and report writing; including recruiting and leading review teams, coordinating logistics, and tactfully balancing competing priorities to achieve the goals of the review.
  • Develop resources (written resources, webinar or inperson training presentations, online learning modules) to support education programs in achieving and maintaining accreditation, and to ensure surveyors are skilled in all aspects of their role.
  • Maintain an annual education program reporting process, to ensure program information is current, and progress reports are submitted as needed.
  • Accreditation Process_
  • Regularly assess accreditation processes for opportunities to improve and streamline the accreditation experience for all involved parties.
  • Implement continuous quality improvement processes to increase accreditation's impact, and to assess and improve accreditation review experiences.
  • Provide input on accreditation standards and policies.
  • Develop and provide communications which promote the value of accreditation and increase education program uptake of voluntary accreditation programs.
  • Support standards development or revision projects by facilitating engagement within impacted parties and organizations, analyzing and reporting on evaluative data, and researching and writing standards content.

Requirements:


  • Minimum 4years previous experience in accreditation processes or programs within an accreditation organization and/or educational setting
  • University degree in a related field such as education, health care, or healthcare services administration
  • Strong knowledge of quality improvement principles
  • Project management qualifications or experience
  • Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills, and sound judgement
  • Strengths in professional interpersonal communication and building working relationships, including excellence in written communications
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines
  • Ability to work in French and English would be an asset
  • Learning design and/or adult education qualifications or experience would be an asset
  • Internet and technology savvy and highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Microsoft Teams, Word and Excel)
