What we get
- A capable expert with at three to five years experience in Payroll Administration and a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. Benefits experience is a plus
- A proven professional with PCP designation in good standing through the International Payroll Institute.
- A stickler for ethics who strictly protects the confidentiality of employee information related to Payroll.
- A familiar hand with the Microsoft Suite (Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook) and Payroll systems (Ceridian, ADP, or others).
- A problemsolver who is organized, detail oriented, and has strong followthrough.
- A selfmotivated individual who can multitask, meet sensitive deadlines, and manage their time independently.
Responsibilities
- Process semimonthly payroll for over 200+ employees across multiple provinces and US states.
- Handle verification, calculations and processes for new hires, changes, and payments guided by current government legislation.
- Responsible for payment including earnings, vacation pay, statutory pay, overtime, garnishments, retroactive adjustments, terminations, ROEs, etc.
- Maintain the integrity of payroll system data for employee changes, deductions, taxable benefits, new hires, terminations, and more.
- Document accurate and detailed records of payroll functions for audit purposes following statutory requirements.
- Uphold employee's files in electronic format to ensure they are up to date.
- Stay informed on the latest payroll legislation, regulations, procedures, and the Employment Standards Act.
- Enroll, coordinate, and reconcile benefits in an accurate and timely fashion.
- Investigate and resolve any payroll issues/inquiries with employees.
- Complete journals for month and yearend reporting promptly.
- Work in various Payroll, Benefits, and accounting activities; be available to support on special projects as assigned.
