This position will report to the Chief Metallurgical Engineer and is not available for a remote work.

What you will do:

Supervise a team of unionized lab analysts and reagent operators
Engage the workforce to continuously improve safety in the lab and reagent handling area
Ensure personnel are trained in their job duties
Manage employee schedule during planned and unplanned absences
Manage crew work priorities and backlog
Continuously improve the lab QA/QC program and ensure stewardship by crew
Support product quality program through audits and investigations
Provide ongoing formal and informal job feedback to direct reports
Other duties as assigned

What you will bring:

Chemical Technology diploma or equivalent postsecondary education
A minimum of 5 years of experience working in a laboratory or mineral processing, previous supervisory experience preferred
Demonstrated team leadership and communication skills
Strong user of MS office software including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
Proficient in laboratory QA/QC practices
Potash sample preparation and analysis is an asset
