QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Graduate of a Medical Office Administration Program or Medical Terminology Certificate and equivalent in related experience
  • One year related clerical experience in a high volume, fast paced department within a health care/medical office setting
  • One year experience with computer software including Microsoft Office programs
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment and handle biological specimens
  • Accurate keyboarding skills with a minimum of 50 w.p.m.
  • One year experience with computer software including Microsoft Office programs
, with data entry experience

  • Demonstrated commitment to patient/client centred care
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to respect the confidentially of personnel and patient information
  • Compliance with confidential requirements under the Niagara Health Privacy Policy
  • Demonstrated professional attitude while interacting with the public, patients, employees and medical staff
  • Ability to cope with frequent interruptions while maintaining deadlines and expected registration turnaround time and work in a multitasking environment
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Physical and mental capabilities to perform the duties of the position such as multitasking, keyboarding and working in a fastpaced, stressful environment
  • Must be available for all shifts including midnight, afternoon and weekend shifts, vacation replacement, paid holidays and sick time with mínimal notice
  • Consistent and regular attendance required
  • Proficiency in both official languages (English & French) will be considered an asset
  • Full vaccination in accordance with Niagara Health's Vaccination Policy
