The Ministry of Children and Family Development provides services that support healthy, safe environments where children and youth are connected to their family and community.

The ministry delivers the majority of its services locally through contracted agencies as well as through centrally administered provincial programs.


The Procurement Financial Officer provides expertise and recommendations regarding procurement, contract management, and financial and administrative matters, and supports the delivery of services to children, youth and families, budget management, and accountability responsibilities.


Job Requirements:


  • Professional Accounting Designation (CPA, CPA-CA, CPA-CGA or CPA-CMA) is required accompanied with a bachelor's degree in business administration, economics, commerce, or related field. In lieu of a degree, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in financial reporting, financial statement analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in providing expert professional advice, information, or decision support analysis to senior management on program financial or funding issues.
  • Experience in contract and procurement administration.
  • Experience working directly with contracted service providers to provide support and resolve issues.
  • Experience with Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAS).
  • Experience working with and/or leading engagement with First Nations organizations.
  • Experience in prioritizing and leading projects and tasks in a dynamic environment with constantly changing priorities and evolving issues.

Willingness Statement:

  • Travel may be required to attend meetings within the supported Service Delivery Areas.

2 Positions available.
This position can be based in any Ministry of Children and Family Development office.
