    Description

    Purpose: Athene has set up a Canadian Service Company to attract and develop professional talent and support business units in the US and Bermuda locations. We are looking to fill 4 actuarial student co-op positions in downtown Toronto. The opportunity spans a minimum of 4 consecutive months from September to December.

    The Actuarial Student Co-op role will focus on various available areas:

    • Experience Analysis
    • EBS Reporting
    • Hedging
    • US Statutory Reporting

    These roles provide the chance to collaborate with different departments within the organization.

    Accountabilities:

    • Assist in preparing annual experience analysis, including data gathering, updating excel inputs, compiling output, and summarizing results for senior management.
    • Assist in producing and reporting Bermuda Economic Balance Sheet (EBS) results.
    • Assist in producing and reporting US Statutory results.
    • Assist in daily/weekly derivative collateral process.
    • Assist in monthly collateral deal calculations.
    • Enhance documentation across all business areas.
    • Ensure proper controls are established to maintain a strong control environment.
    • Collaborate with team members and contribute to ad hoc projects.

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Currently pursuing a four-year degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, finance, or related field.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and proficiency in written and spoken English.
    • Commitment to actuarial exam progress.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
    • Experience with handling and analyzing large datasets is a plus.
    • Knowledge of Python, SQL, SAS, and PowerQuery is advantageous.
