Temporary 4-months


HOURS OF WORK: 35-hour workweek


LOCATION:
Hybrid Model - when working onsite, you will report to the location of City Hall.


HOURLY RATE:
Step 1: $20.67 per hour


Step 2:
$21.55 per hour

AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY:


Reporting to the Director, Strategic Services & Initiatives, provide project, program, and administrative support to the Strategic Services & Initiatives division.

Ensures efficient and effective delivery of programs and services by providing direct functional support and responds to inquiries received by the Office of the CAO.


  • Provide program assistance and support for divisional initiatives, programs, processes, projects, and events.
  • Respond inquiries/concerns and provide information regarding programs and services to meet divisional service standards.
  • Independently fulfills administrative and program duties as related to area of work, including correspondence, documentation, minute taking, preparing memos and reports, presentations.
  • Supports project leads in the planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of divisional policies, programs, special events.
  • Participates in working groups and brainstorming sessions to provide input, ideas, insights
  • Assist with data entry and management.
  • Perform qualitative/quantitative research and analysis in a technical and/or specialized discipline to identify trends, industry best practices, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Work with both internal and external stakeholders to complete projects, where applicable.
  • Prepares project and program updates for review by management.
  • Maintain confidentiality based on the requirement to access and maintain sensitive sectional or divisional and organizational communication, reports, materials and records.
  • Maintain an understanding of department programs and services.
  • Understand, adhere to, and enforce Corporate Policies & Procedures, Confidentiality Guidelines, Emergency Procedures and Health and Safety Standards.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:


  • Student must be enrolled in any University or College. Proof of enrollment letter will be requested prior to the job offer.
  • Student is required to obtain a criminal record clearance check at own expense.

SELECTION CRITERIA:


  • Student must be currently enrolled in a Graduate Public Administration, Social Work, Business Administration, Public Policy, Human Resources, similar or equivalent program.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of discipline specific principles.
  • Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written.
  • Possess strong computer skills, e.g. MS Office programs including MS Word and Excel.
  • Ability to prioritize and excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Practical knowledge of applicable software(s) within discipline.
