About the Role:


The Coordinator, Community Relations and Social Media for the Edmonton Oil Kings will focus on connecting our passionate fans with their favorite team.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to create engaging social content while delivering "I Remember Moments" and memories to our fans both in the arena and in the community.

This is a fast-paced role that is perfect for those with a creative spirit who thrive in both dreaming and doing


Your Focus in this Role:


  • Creating and managing content on all official Edmonton Oil Kings platforms, including: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and TikTok.
  • Managing the content on the official website of the Edmonton Oil Kings
  • Working game nights to capture unique and engaging content from the game to connect with our fans.
  • Working with the Director, Business Operations to research, identify and execute community events, causes and charities for the Edmonton Oil Kings to support throughout the calendar year.
  • Managing and tracking all incoming requests for charitable support from the community.
  • Working with both internal and external stakeholders to plan the various events which are attended by both the players and the brand.
  • Assisting in writing articles and content pieces for community and sponsorshipbased player appearances.
  • Liaise with player families to offer tickets, merchandise, special event information, and assist with any other needs that might arise.

Education, Experience and Skills**:


  • Postsecondary degree or two years of related experience, with experience in a sport setting being considered preferred.
  • Proven experience in creating and managing content on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and TikTok.
  • Experience with WordPress or other website editing software.
  • Experience with creative software such as Adobe Photoshop or something similar.
  • Proactive and resourceful with an ability to "make things happen"
  • Good balance of creative/communications instincts and logical, analytical skills.
