We are looking for a highly motivated Product Owner to join our Pension Services & Technology team in Toronto.

You will be part of growing a product development team to deliver new and evolve existing products and services for OMERS Pensions.

Our team focuses on leveraging the newest technologies and approaches to deliver solutions & systems for the modern-day end user.

As a member of this team, you will be responsible for:

  • Understanding the business opportunities, user needs and technology landscape to define the product vision and maximize the product value
  • Planning and prioritizing product backlogs, writing and prioritizing user stories and epics to ensure work is focused on delivering maximum value
  • Engaging with business stakeholders and providing direction and vision to our delivery squads on product strategy
  • Managing product design, dependencies and tradeoffs and ability to resolve crossteam interdependencies
  • Driving iteration and release plans, with a focused attention to work progress in sprint and to addressing issues during sprints
  • Following progress of work and addressing issues during sprints
  • Working crossfunctionally to plan business readiness and change management activities
  • Developing and communicating product release plans and setting expectations for the delivery of new functionality
  • Working closely and collaboratively with technical leads to guide the way for our development squads

To succeed in this role, you have:

  • 3+ years of experience as Product Owner in an Agile (Scrum) environment and/or Actuarial Sciences, Financial Services and Banking, or Pensions
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and leadership skills
  • The ability to juggle multiple stakeholder groups/requests at a time and prioritize them accordingly
  • A handson approach to assist both your direct team and the broader Pension Services and Technology team
  • Knowledge of agile process and principles
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Great attention to detail
  • Sharp analytical and problemsolving skills
  • Proficiency in SQL
  • A technical background with knowledge of software development and web technologies and/or pensions would be an asset
