The RPN provides optimal nursing care and contributes to the delivery of high quality resident centered care by:

Carrying out clinical care consistent with the Careplan and updating as required in consultation with the Charge Nurse
Supporting residents' independence, dignity, social, emotional and cultural wellbeing
Supporting 147 Elder's REST Philosophy of Care, mission, vision and value statement and helping develop and operationalize the department goals
Providing elements of clinical care required by the residents which complements the scope of practice of the Personal Support Worker (PSW)
Working as a team member with the PSW's, Cook, Recreationists, Environmental Care workers and respects, maintains and contributes to the therapeutic environment
Working to support the Charge Nurse in the care of the residents
Being available and guiding the front line, multidisciplinary team as needed to maintaining excellence in residents' well being
Anticipating and managing complex, unstable and changing clinical situations
Reporting changes in health status or unusual occurrence to the Charge Nurse and/or Nurse Supervisor and NP if available
